Only 2 Weeks Until Mother’s Day

Monday, April 25th, 2011

Mother’s Day is a time of commemoration and celebration for Mom. It is a time of breakfast in bed, family gatherings, and crayon scribbled “I Love You’s.”

Mother’s Day is only 2 weeks away, with Easter being so late this year I thought I better warn you. There is not much time to get ready. Here are your mom-stuff links to help you with ideas. Mother’s Day will be celebrated on  08 May (in the U.S.). In the UK  is celebrated on the 03 of April, 2011.

Scrapbooking with Kids

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

From Jill at scrapbook.com

Scrapbooking is a great way to spend time with your children, share your favorite hobby, and even reinforce skills learned in school without them realizing it. And, really, what kid doesn’t like cutting up paper, peeling off stickers, or drawing pictures? Try channeling some of your child’s creative energy into scrapbooking. Here’s how:

Choose a kid-friendly album theme. Just like adults, children will enjoy making layouts about the people and things they love such as their family, friends, a vacation, holidays, etc. If an album is a little ambitious for your young child, start with one of these great kids crafts ideas using your scrapbook supplies. Visit the Kids Crafts section of our Superstore for easy project kits, too.

Create boundaries.  Let children work with smaller pages such as 6” x 6” or 8” x 8”. Specialty albums such as tag books or mini-albums are also a great starting point for children. Smaller spaces and more finite albums won’t seem so intimidating. Likewise, it can be overwhelming to a child if you let them choose supplies from your entire scrapbooking collection. Set out a couple of embellishments and paper choices that work well with the photos or theme they’ve chosen and let them decide which supplies they want to use. Themed kits purchased especially for the child are a great way to encourage a sense of ownership over their work. To Our Soldiers, Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day

to all who wear our country’s uniform.

Thank you for your sacrifice.

A Father’s Love Knows No Boundaries

This year for Father’s Day, http://www.mom-stuff.com would like to honor all of our soldiers. This message is for all who wear our country’s uniform; the Army, the Navy, the Coast Guard, the Marines, the Air Force, the National Guard and all of our Veterans.

We are living in the freedom your sacrifices have purchased for us.

We thank you, we love, and we prey for your safety.

We want to express our gratitude for the hard ship and sacrifice of all of our soldiers and their families on this Father’s Day. We want to honor the sacrifice these families are making to keep us safe. They make the ultimate sacrifice and we want them to know how much we appreciate them.

This is a picture of my son-in-law and my grandson that was scrapbooked for mom-stuff,com. This is one of my favorite pictures. My son-in-law was able to come home for the birth of his son and then had to return to Iraq. Such joy in seeing his first born come into the world and such pain leaving him to return to Iraq, missing so much of his early life. This picture represents all of our soldiers (a father, a husband, a son, a brother, a friend) leaving his home and the ones he loves to fight for his love of his country. What a sacrifice. What love!!!

Please forward this to everyone on your list that has a soldier in his or her family. Let them know how much we appreciate their service.
