The Mom-Stuff Blog Tour is visiting Looks Good in Polka Dots this week. Jamie is a talented writer. She has her blog LooksGoodInPolkaDots. “It’s not just about Mothering, Gluten Free Cooking and Socially Conscious Living.”

She is also a Contributing Writer for these sites:

EcoChildsPlay.com

EatDrinkBetter.com

CraftingAGreenWorld.com

Today I want to share one of her articles from EcoChildsPlay.com This sounds like fun.

I Make My Own Soap

http://ecochildsplay.com/2009/01/02/new-year-resolution-1-make-my-own-soap/

Let’s get real here… I like to do crafty things. If you don’t roll that way, it’s okay! There are plenty of options out there for purchasing natural, handcrafted soaps (which are better for you, better for the environment and better for small business). I’ve been “going to” make soap for about six months now. Well, it’s a new year and that means its time “to”.

If you want to jump on the handcrafted soap bandwagon… Here’s how!

First, jump on over to Bramble Berry and purchase an Eco-Chic Soap Kit ($15.45). The kit includes: 2 lbs of Organic Melt and Pour Base, 1 ounce spirulina, 1 ounce cranberry seeds and two essential oils. You provide coffee grounds, oats, rubbing alcohol, and recycled containers of choice (think shape/texture- tofu containers, yogurt tubs, the bottom of a 20oz soda bottle, small milk cartons, etc…).

Once you’ve compiled all the tools and ingredients, use the Eco-Chic Soap Tutorial on the Soap Queen Blog to create your one of a kind soap. Skip the last step that recommends wrapping your soap in plastic wrap. We don’t like that stuff. Instead use parchment paper, corrugated (recycled) paperboard, fabric or place in a recycled tub (like a large cream cheese or margarine tub) or other sealed container.

The best part of this project is the simplicity, which means the kids can help. Let them experiment with other herbs and coarse ingredients, change up your molds by placing a flexible cookie cutter inside the container and filling it with the soap base, have fun! Remember to set the kids’ shower timers so they aren’t tempted to hang out a little longer enjoying their new concoction

Jamie is a very talented Mom as you will find out this week. Polkadotmommy is the kind of person we all want as a friend. Go visit her blog LooksGoodInPolkaDots and make comments, you will be glad you got to know her.

Mom-Stuff.com (featured articles) has got your St. Patrick’s Day food, kids crafts and decorations posted.

I will see you tomorrow with more great stuff from Jamie, the polkadotmommy.

The Mom-Stuff Blog tour wants to share a creative post from the trenches of motherhood with you today. Mandy has a great gift of socialization. She brings moms together and lifts them up. It has been such an honor to be welcomed into her world this week. I have only given you a glimpse into her life. Make sure you visit her site, blogs and her Blogfrog community.

Traveling Activity with Quirky Momma

Rachel is mommy to three preschoolers and blogs about their learning activities and adventures at Quirky Momma. Her original mini-whiteboard post can be found on that site

I have three preschoolers and to say that it is a “struggle” to keep them entertained when traveling or at say a Dr. appointment is an understatement. I feel like we are finally getting to a place where keeping them engaged is easier. One of our favorite travel and diaperbag forms of entertainment/learning is our mini-whiteboards. They are super easy to make and can keep your kids entertained for 20-30 min at a time. I have even used them to write notes to myself when out and about or to keep track of a grocery list. This whiteboard is included in my post on 40 Tips to Travel with Preschoolers.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

An empty CD case

Scissors

glue stick

Dry Erase Markers

Dried out diaper wipe (for cleaning – they last a long time and store inside the case)

White paper – Cardstock is best, or patterned paper – we printed the print one of Charles Harper’s animal works for the kids to play “I Spy” and circle animals they find.

HOW TO MAKE IT:

Take apart the CD case. We made our case white on one side and patterned on the other. Cut your paper to fit. Lightly edge your paper in clear glue to help it adhere to the case. The glue is not necessary, but it helps your mini-whiteboard live a little longer. If your kids are like mine, their favorite part of this activity will be wiping their writing, opening and closing the case between wipes. Reassemble the CD case and have fun writing! This is a great thing for every toddler diaper bag, great for entertaining and keeping kiddos quiet in a pinch. The Dry Erase markers will stain clothes, the carpet at the Dr. office, etc., so I like to take wipe-able crayons with me when we are out. Have fun playing “I Spy” and learning with your mini-whiteboard.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO WITH YOUR WHITEBOARD:

If you go with the Harper print, circle the animals in one color, plants in another… or circle a specific animal. He found the walrus!!!

If you have patterned paper that is dot-to-dot have the kids follow the numbers to create the design.

play guess that letter or guess that word. As you write the letter have the kids guess it before you are finished.

Use it in Bible memory. Write your Bible verse and erase a word each time you say it until you are saying the entire verse with out seeing the words (this is a great way to work on site reading with your early reader).

Color a picture – be creative!

Today is our last day with Mandy from the trenches of motherhood. We want to thank Mandy for sharing her blogs with us. The Mom-Stuff Blog Tour is almost over and that makes me sad. Next week will be our last week for this tour. We will be visiting Looks Good in Polkadots. It will be educational. Jamie nitch is glutten free foods.

I hope you are having as much fun following Mom-Stuff Blog Tour as we are. If you want to make some fun St. Patrick’s Day crafts with your kids this weekend we have some great ones at Mom-Stuff.com

Mom-Stuff Blog of the week- From the Trenches of Motherhood. Mandy calls herself Trench Mommy. But as you will see in these posts I am sharing withyou today, she doesn’t allow herself to stay in the foxhole. She finds some motivation, she finds her strength, she makes a plan and then she follows through. The more time I spend on her site the more I find a mom who not only wants to thrive; she wants you to thrive too. She shares her process and invites you to join her. The first post Going Through the Motions was her motivation and her plan. The second post is the third week in this series, What if I had Given Everything. This post Getting Up On Time, is an example of her follow through. You can see each weeks goal and progress on her blog.

Going Through The Motions

Mathew West-The Motion shttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6d23mBY0nGY

This past year was one of the hardest years in my life. Maybe the hardest of all.

In an ironic twist, it seemed that every time this sweet baby was in the hospital, my own trials increased.

While the things that God allowed to come my way in the past 12 months have strengthened me, they have also left me exhausted and spiritually drained.

At this moment, the close of this 28th year of my life, I feel like I am stuck on “auto pilot” or in what I fondly call the “cope mode”. And I am tired of that. I don’t want to be stuck…

…I want to be thriving!

I don’t want to go through the motions anymore, I want to give my everything with an all consuming passion for Christ and His amazing grace in my life.

When I came across the above video clip of Matthew West’s song The Motions I knew it was going to be my theme for the year of 2010. I hope it will be your theme as well as we step out together from going through the motions to soaking in the presence of God and living a life consumed by Him.

I don’t want to wake up at 60 years of age and look back and ask myself: “What if I had given everything?” I want God to take me – my selfish pride – out of the way this year and dig deep to refresh my heart, mind, and soul in Him.

Do I have a plan?

Yes! I do have a plan. Something that I am going to set in motion this week to help make this a year where I just soak up all I possibly can and saturate my life with the truth of God’s Word.

Join me on January 1st to read about my 2010 theme…

WHAT IF I HAD GIVEN EVERYTHING?

Welcome to Week Three of:
What If I Had Given Everything In 2010?

If this is the first time you have joined me for my year-long-post-series, please click here to read the introduction.

Now, for those of you following or joining me – I hope you’re doing this with me! – read on for the 3rd goal for the year.

Remember that we are still in our first goal unit – SCHEDULE – and this is the 3rd week, so that means 2 left to go! Speaking of which, I just finished my book for this unit, too.

Goal #3 Get Up On Time

I know….this is the hard one depending on what your life is like. If you have any time in the morning that you can flex, like me, it may be a battle. But that’s what this is all about: battling to give everything this year.

I will be vulnerable here and share that getting to bed on time this past week has been tough. Really tough. It seemed that things just came up to get me off track even with the best of intentions.

At some moments I thought: “Well, maybe my life has just changed and I just can’t get up early any more….” BUT then God would bring to mind that this wasn’t meant to be easy. If it was, I would not be struggling with it and would be “perfect”! However, HE has will supply me with what I need at the moment I need it. And sometimes that means the strength to keep on keeping on even when I’ve just failed.

So when I have missed my bedtime for two nights in a row I don’t give up…I keep on. As my body adjust it will be easier because my body will automatically draw me to bed without as much will power.

So how about you? How are you goals going? Join me in my community forum to start a discussion or join an existing one about your battle for this year. Let’s encourage one another!

I have really enjoyed getting to know Michelle this week. I would like to thank her for welcoming us into her life. She is a wonderful creative mother. We are so glad to have her in our mom-stuff circle.

Mom-Stuff is adding more St. Patrick’s ideas to help you celebrate the luck of the Irish. Visit us for all of you family fun ideas. We have St. Patrick’s Day food, kids crafts, hair accessories and decorations. We love to celebrate with our families and on St. Patrick’s Day we believe everyone can be Irish. The popularity of this holiday has spread like a patch of wild clover. There are more St. Patrick’s Day parades held in the United States than in Ireland. So lets all get ready to add a wee bit o’ the green celebration to your life.

Here is another Irish Blessing for you and your family:

May there always be work for your hands to do;

May your purse always hold a coin or two;

May the sun always shine on your windowpane;

May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;

May the hand of a friend always be near you;

May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

Have a great week. Next week we will be visiting Mandy From the Trenches of Motherhood. It should be really fun.

See you week, Dianne

Mom-Stuff.com has a warning for our moms. Please help us spread the word. Do not make this mistake when searching for us DO NOT FORGET THE HYPHEN! When I bought mom-stuff.com web address mom stuff.com (with out the hyphen) was not available. Now that we have build up traffic the owner of this address has a site that is NOT MOM STUFF. I am not saying that moms do not like sex but I do not want you to be confused and think we are associated with this site or their content. I want all of you to be aware this is not a site I can endorse. We are not affiliated with it!!! Had this been a parenting site, as it was promoted on the search engine. I would not be concerned.

Now back to the Mom-Stuff Blog Tour.

I believe Michelle at the Adventures of Supermom is a kindred spirit. I have grown to love her passion for motherhood, her love of yarn but today I found something else we have in common. Neither one of us understand people who are obsessed with TV shows. Several weeks ago I visited Robin at Lolidots and she is a real fan of LOST. If you remember she even had a calendar on her blog counting down the days until the new season. I love the passion but I don’t get it. Michelle posted this story today that made me laugh. Michelle if it makes you feel better I understand you and I know I am not weird. Well maybe just a little weird. What do you guys think? Do you have a TV addiction? Help Michelle and I understand this strange human behavior.

Superdad made me feel all weird last night.

Not a good kind of weird either!
He is a Lost freak. I can honestly say it’s in his top three favorite TV shows EVER!!!!! EVER!!!!!!
Right honey?
I used to watch it with him. Up until they said there was going to be three more seasons. So, I gave it up. I didn’t want to invest three more seasons to a TV show. Life is to short for me. I do have four kids after all and a home to take care of. Not to mention I have crocheting to do!!! You have to set some priorities. HA HA!
So, last night he is getting his Lost fix. ~smacking my arm~ I’m working on a Sudoku puzzle in the chair. He’s like, “This doesn’t interest you at all does it?”
“Nope.”
He said it in a way that just made me feel not normal. Like I was crazy for not being a Lost groupie. He really did.
Yeah, I liked the Desmond and Penny love story. I got over it though. Just like I got over Grey’s Anatomy and Big Love. I no longer watch them as of this season. I can go online and read a synopsis in 10 minutes and save myself an hour of sitting on the couch turning into mush.
Maybe I’m just weird like that. Who knows.
Speaking of my crocheting. I love cotton yarn! I found a local yarn company, local as in about 45 minutes away, that sells the best cotton yarn. I was able to talk to them and now I’m getting 25 % off my orders! I LOVE to buy locally and I love cotton yarn!!!!!!! I just placed an order and I am so thrilled. I cannot wait to touch it when I get it next week.
Buy local! All the cool kids do it!

Thanks to everyone following our Mom-Stuff Blog Tour. Visit Michelle at the Adventures of Supermom and tell her Hello and thanks for allowing is to visit. Make comments, make tweets, invite friends, and tell your friends about how much we are having.

Today is our last day st Katherine Center’s blog. We hope you have enjoyed Katherine’s work as much as we have. I want to share with you Katherine’s process in writing a novel. If you have a novel in you I think you will enjoy this. posted Jan 8,2010 on Katherine’s blog, My New New Novel

About five minutes ago, I sent the first three chapters of my new novel to my editor at Random House. It doesn’t have a title yet, and it won’t come out until Spring 2012. But it’s a crazy thrill to have the beginning in solid shape, and to send it off for feedback.

I’ve been watching this new story unfold in little pieces in my head for a long time. I know a lot already about where it’s going in a broad way (though the details are always one surprise after another). But it’s pretty thrilling to see it all actually happen. Does that make sense? It’s one thing to know a character goes for a walk. But it’s another to actually write the scene and BE THERE.

Here are some photos of the writing I’ve been doing over the break. Just for fun.

This is my process: I type the story, then print it out and carry it in a binder like precious cargo wherever I go. Then, as I re-read, it sparks other ideas in my head, and I write them all over the margins and on the backs of pages.

I edit things out and add things in at the same time. Then, after a bit, I type all the changes in and print it out again fresh. I love the pages when they are newly-printed and pristine. But I love them even more when they are scrawled and scribbled all over.

Usually I’ll use plain-old vinyl binders in black or white. But, for this one, I gave in to my love of pretty office products and bought a flowery binder at Target. At least, until the story gets too long to fit!

This was fun for me to see how a published author goes from conception to novel. I was surprised and tickled to see her note book. I carry around notebooks instead of my lap top too. With all of the wonderful technology today it is fun to see that some of the old methods just seems to still work. I want to thank Katherine for allowing me to visit her blog. It is such an honor to be welcomed in to someones life. and trusted with their treasured work. I wish Katherine years of success with her writing. I am so glad she is living the life she chose for herself. Katherine Center is an inspiration to moms everywhere to live their passion.

This weekend we will be changing Mom-Stuff to St.

Here is an Irish Blessing for you and your family:

May God grant you aleays

Asunbeam to warm you,

Amoombean to charm you,

Asheltering angel

So nothing can harm you.

Have a great week. Next week we will be visiting Michelle at The Adventures of Supermom. It should be really fun.

See you week week, Dianne

You can choose from: Triumphs, Life-Self Balance, More Money=More Freedom, The kids, The Man (Relationships), Friends and Family, and Product Reviews. The article we are sharing today is all about marriage after children by Ilona.

The Top 10 Things I Learned About Being “Married With Children”

I’ve been together with my husband for twelve years. In those twelve years we’ve disagreed or fought maybe ten times…eight of those fights happened after Amelie was born. If my husband was not the coolest person I know and the only one to tolerate my crap, I believe these numbers would have been much much higher, so…

Here are some things that helped us survive the first year of being”Married With Children:”

1. Appreciate each other and vocalize it often. If he changes a diaper, instead of “Finally!” say “Thank you.”

2. When it all gets too be too much and you haven’t slept or showered in days, put your hands down and laugh together even if it’s through tears. It’s just too messed up to do anything else.

3. Make a list of things that made you say “yes” when he proposed. Read it often.

4. Do one small thing a day for each other, no matter how little. My husband makes me an egg sandwich every morning to take to work. No jewelry in the world can replace that.

5. Don’t bring too many outsiders into your problems. Solve what you need to privately.

6. Slap each other’s butt once in a while in passing. Sex will follow…one day.

7. If you can’t get out together, make a date in. Better plates, bottle of wine, and “Entourage.”

8. Give each other a break, especially if you have no family help. My husband and I operated in three-hour shifts until the crying monster disappeared at about 6 months of age.

9. If you do fight, fight about what really bothers you. Don’t bring other topics into the mix.

10. If all else fails and you are angry, frustrated and hate each other’s guts for that moment…look at your kid. You made that, it’s yours and you’re freaking it out by screaming at each other.

She is starting to be more comfortable with the main page of the blog and really enjoying it. The creative outlet is nice to have but, what she enjoys the most are the friendships she has made through it and because of it. So go visit Lolidots and become one of her new friends,
Today we want to share her post on relationships’.

Mawwaige is what bwings us togevah today…

**First, let me say that if you don’t understand the title of this post then I demand you go out and rent (or totally just buy) The Princess Bride.Posted by Robin Haws at Lolidots

I was going to do another post about Lost, what with it being D-Day and all. Then I thought about my dear readers who maybe are not counting down the actual minutes to the show tonight. With that and the thought of all the Lost posts that will inevitably appear once the show starts, I got the ol’ noodle crankin’ and am going to take a crack at something else. Bear with me here. I’m not sure where it will go.

I’ve been thinking a lot about marriage lately. Relationships and how they work. How we learn what to do in a relationship, what they mean, how we change and grow when we are involved. Marriage and relationships seems to be a reoccurring theme that has shown up in different places in my life recently.

When my amazing hubby and I first got together it was head-over-heels, movin’-too-fast, you’re-the-one-for-me, bliss.

For a few months.

Then things got real. And for me, that meant things got scary.

All I ever knew was to “cut and run” when things got hairy. Because, in my eyes, a “good” relationship meant that you didn’t fight. Fighting meant it wasn’t a “good” relationship and that meant you ran away.

I grew up in a loving home. My dad and stepmom (Mom to me. Nothing “step” about it.) loved us (my brother and I) and did their best to raise us right. I honestly do not remember seeing them argue. I’m sure they did. With all my brother and I put them through, with all my biological mother put them through, I’m sure there was plenty reason to have a disagreement here and there. I don’t remember seeing it. They had, in my mind, a “Donna Reed” marriage.

Flip the switch to the weekends I spent with the other set of parents. It’s easy to be argument free when you’re only dealing with kids on weekends here and there. At least, it’s easy to appear argument free. But, that’s not what I learned from her. The lesson I learned from my biological mother was that when things got tough, it was okay to run.

So, entering the first real and adult relationship of my life with expectations of blissful days and argument free nights, all the while carrying no real conflict tools, was a time bomb waiting to happen. Well, unless you count sarcasm as an argument tool. I mean, sarcasm counts, right?

What did I do?

I left.

What happened next?

Life.

Fate. (yes, I believe in it.)

Because my hubby was the only person I had ever dated that I remained friends with. Because we went our separate ways and lived through things that needed to happen to us. Because, in the end, I truly believe we end up with the person we are meant to be with. Because the first time around, it just wasn’t the right time in our lives yet.

Because of that, two years later we were back together.

And it’s been five years, almost one year of marriage, two kids, countless obstacles that life has thrown at us and all the other wonderfulness in between.

I’ve changed a lot. I’ve gained some fairly decent conflict tools. Sarcasm still counts, right? I’ve learned to trust, to love, to care, to stay.

Though, the credit really goes to my hubby.

He came along for the ride. He held me back when everything inside me was saying “cut and run”. He changed with me. He grew with me. And together, we allowed our relationship to grow, sometimes without even knowing it.

There were times that I really thought things were over. Petty fights about the stupidest of things sent me into spirals of grief over the relationship that I was sure wouldn’t last. Because, I didn’t know any better.

But, we learned together. We learned how to trust together. We learned how to let it all go and give ourselves up to the scary thought that is “forever”.

Don’t get me wrong. I still slip. I get mad over things that I am ashamed of later. I make a huge deal out of things that would be ridiculous even to a 6th grade girl. But, I’ve learned how to let it go. I’ve learned how to talk it out. I’ve learned that it doesn’t mean the end of our relationship. I’ve learned that every time we argue and then get over it we are one step closer to each other. I’ve learned to love those pits of life as much as I love the mountaintops.

I’ve also learned that as much as I love my memories of the “Donna Reed” marriage I grew up with, I want my kids to see some of the conflict. Why? Because I want them to see the resolution. I feel an intense need to teach my children that disagreement is perfectly fine and there are healthy ways to get through it. Do they need to see every fight? No, certainly not. Just as they certainly don’t need to see the really fun resolving! But, I just know that I don’t want to send them into the harsh world of relationships without showing them the realities, the grumblings and the apologies that completely go along with the smiles, hugs and love.

Because, like a very smart blogger I read said recently, the ups and downs are why people ride the roller coaster. And she’s totally right. Those naive visions of the “Donna Reed” marriage or the “cut and run” lifestyle will only get you so far. Once I realized what true love was…once I realized I had found it…I was ready for my lifetime pass to the roller coaster…and the puking that sometimes goes along with it.

Mom-Stuff Blog Tour is visiting Robin this week. “Lolidotsbegan as a boutique for unique handmade children’s accessories, clothing and gifts. It started with Kutie Klips hair bows and grew from there. I love creating and crafting.

The Lolidots Blog was an unexpected extension of the Boutique that has been a wonderful experience for me. I love doing the product reviews and hosting the fun giveaways for all of my readers. More than that, I’m starting to be more comfortable with the main page of the blog and really enjoy the fun I have with it. The creative outlet is nice to have but, what’s been the most amazing part is the friendships I’ve made through it and because of it.

I’m a Texan through and through, wear my heart on my sleeve, wonderfully flawed Mommy of two, married to my best friend, child of divorce, former “party girl”, good listener, super sarcastic, soul searching, chili-cheese fries loving, non-baking, rock and rolling, unconventional parent…in a constant state of organized chaos.

I like to think of myself as an open book. If you’ve got a question about anything from hair bows to something you’ve seen or would like to see on the blog, please contact me! ” robin@lolidots.com

Hello, My name is Robin

and I’m a Lost-ie.

Now, I’m not really dissecting each and every episode, reference and nuance. However, I’m fairly certain that I’m far too invested in this show. I remember this feeling of impending doom when my beloved Sopranos was coming to an end and I’m torn as to whether or not to look forward to the coming months of nervous and excited television watching.

I’m such a dork.

Daddy- I’m sorry for the jokes. Well, not all the jokes. It’s still funny to make fun of Trekkies. But, now I can commiserate.

And, many thanks to my bloggy friend Samantha for showing me the world ofLostpedia so that I may further embark on the quest of being dominated by my computer.

After a thread in Blog Frog, I have been pleasantly joined in my Lostiness by many awesome chicks and great bloggers.

So, without a doubt, I’ll be devoting time to Lost every week. I thought we could all join in, have some fun with new stuff, old stuff and maybe even some theories!

This is my first wholehearted effort at a meme of sorts. Because it seems that my calling in life is to start projects and not finish them, I’m hoping that avid participation will help prod me along. Besides, it’s only for a tv season, right?

I thought I’d start with some questions. I’ll answer them. If you want to answer in the comments, that’s cool. If you want to participate on your blog then, by all means, link up! (Ugh, this is a little like standing here naked. Dammit, if I have to start another blog just to have one link then I will!)

Oh, one more thing, if you actually enjoy this, feel free to let me know what questions I should do!

So, here’s a few I’ve been thinking of…

1. If you were on the island, which group would you be in? Survivors, Others, Dharma
2. If you were stranded on an island, which character would you want to be stranded with?
3. Which backstory was your favorite?
4. Are there any mysteries you really hope will be solved in this last season?

1. If you were on the island, which group would you be in? Survivors, Others, Dharma

Others. Definitely.

But, I’m picky.

I’d want to be a part of The Others before the plane crash. Not in the 70s when they are traipsing through the forest wearing army clothes. Not when they are plotting against The Survivors. The seemingly nice little community they have before the crash. I’m so intrigued by self-sufficient communities like that and really love those nice, neat little houses. I don’t know what it is but, I’m drawn to that.

Not so big on the traipsing through the jungle or beach living.

2. If you were stranded on an island, which character would you want to be stranded with?

Sawyer.

Mmmmmmmm.

Ok, really though, I’d have to say Charlie. For one, love the accent. He’s sweet and a good conversationalist. He’d have some great stories to tell and could keep me entertained with his guitar. I wouldn’t get sick of looking at him, that’s for sure!

Though, now I’m turning more practical and thinking maybe Jack would be a better choice.

3. Which backstory was your favorite?

Sawyer, Miles, Daniel.

I guess my fave though, because so much was revealed, was Daniel Faraday.

4. Are there any mysteries you really hope will be solved in this last season?

Yes!
Why didn’t Aaron have to go back?
Why were Walt and Michael able to leave?
If the island is so powerful then why didn’t Jack’s dad come back to life when 815 crashed?
And, what’s the deal with Jack’s dad? How is he so important that Locke talked to him before he turned the wheel?
What was the deal with the horse?
Why did Jacob give Hurley that guitar case, what’s in it and why did he bring it?
What’s the deal with the statue? Where did it come from and why is it broken now?

I’m sure I have more questions and will absolutely have even more when the new season starts. For now, I’d love theories on any of my questions! I’m going to do another post of theories in a couple of days.

Alrighty. Now it’s time to see how many Lost-ies want to join in!

Destiny calls!

Today is our last day at the Ashley’s Craft Blog on our Mom-Stuff Blog Tour. The Mom-StuffTeam has really enjoyed visiting Ashley’s great blog. She is a great resource for moms with young kids who like crafts. We still have a few spots left on our Mom-Stuff Blog Tour if you want us to highlight your blog let us know. dianne@mom-stuff.com

Materials:
Heart suckers
Goggle eyes
Red ribbon
White and pink craft foam
Red glitter craft foam
Small white pom poms
Red and white glider pompoms
White, red, and pink pipe cleaners
Low heat glue gun and glue
Scissors

Instructions:
The first thing that I did was cut hearts out of the craft foam. Cut 2 bigger hearts out of the white or pink. Use your suckers as a pattern to cut the hearts. Cut out 2 smaller hearts that will be glued onto the bigger hearts. I traced the hearts on to the craft foam and I let my son cut out all of the hearts. If your kids are old enough they love to do this part.
Then I had my son glue the smaller heart to the bigger hearts. We glued the hearts to the suckers, one on both sides of the sucker. To make the face I glued on the goggle eyes and a small pom pom as the nose. I had my son twist the pipe cleaners for the antennas and I glued the pipe cleaner on the back of the sucker. For the final touch I glued glittery pom poms to the top of each antenna.

This craft is really pretty and can even be used as a decoration while waiting to give out on Valentines Day. Put each sucker into a straw and put them in a vase on your kitchen table.
