Join The Boob On Vacation

Read on…This is an event from a FB friend of mine…Boob on Vacation for @Wil Whalen.

Not only do I think it’s an awesome idea but I also think that you should do it. Be a part of positive healing through humor!

“Here’s the deal. I lost my mother, my Aunt Dottie and my childhood friend to cancer. Lasts year, I lost my dear friend Rose. Now another woman I’m close to has been diagnosed.

Cathy Morris is like a mother to me. For 8 years she’s been very good to me. Icannot even put into words how much I love her dearly. Her kids Michele and Damien are two of my favorite people on the planet. They are my Maine Family. They’re the first people I call with good news and they have my back when times are tough. So….the bad news. Cathy has breast cancer. She is having a mastectomy. The day she found out she had cancer we all went out for food and drinks. Cathy also has an amazing sense of humor as well. She said, “I’m not going to look at it like I lost a boob, I’m just going to pretend it went on vacation.” Then she proceeded to make jokes about her boob going around the world having a great time. Then she said she wanted to write a book about her boob on vacation. And that gave me this idea. If she thinks her boob is on vacation, then it should send post cards. So I want everyone to go buy a post card from the town you live in and send it to Mama Morris. Write something witty about what her boob did while there mention you and your friends/family and sign it, Love Your Boob. Wil Whalen

Our wish is for her to receive a TON of these postcards so she can make a scrap book of her Boob On Vacation. You have no idea how much this will mean to her. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO THIS! It will be the best medicine ever! Also, feel free to pay it forward and get a bunch of your friends to do it as well. You have all my gratitude for this! And yes, even if you live here in Maine, still do it. Also, if you feel so inclined, copy the text of this event and email it to 10 friends.

When she receives all her post cards, I’ve going to scan them in my computer front and back and then have a hard back book made for her.

Friendship Day is Aug 1,2010

Friendship bears a different definition with different people.

To a child, whoever is happy to play with them during recess are their friends. When they share their candies or toys, they become true friends indeed. A day in the park together is all it takes to make them best friends. The innocence of a child never fails to amaze anyone.

As they grow older, their classmates and those who help them with their homework becomes their friend. The friend is normally a classmate or schoolmate that they meet often or interact with alot. They would probably be involved in the same activities.

Teenage years come and friends are the highlight of their lives. They would share their inner most thoughts, fears and feel more comfortable with their friends than with their family. You would definitely share your innermost thoughts and secrets with a friend, one that you would never consider sharing with your family. Friends are those with whom they can relate to, fit in with, be on the phone all day with, and discuss all the latest gossips with. Friends are those they can share adventures with and have fun with.

They then grow up and friends are those who are there through thick and thin, as each of them move on through the next phases in lives. They may not meet up as much, but they are always on one another’s mind. In times of need, they are the ones who would drop everything and come there.

Friends would evolve as a person, create new bonds such as a spouse or a family, have new responsibilities and opportunities, and still have one another in mind. But they would still be there to celebrate your achievements, and support you during a hard time. You are the first person they would call to announce their successes and be eager to share it with you over a meal or a celebration party. The distance your lives gain would not lessen the friendship in anyway.

So friendship comes in many forms…But eitherway, it is a beautiful bond that needs to be honored, remembered and always cherished. This is a bond life cannot proceed on without. Let us see how we can honor this day dedicated to good friendships.

Whimsie’s National Friendship Week Challenge

National Friendship Week Challenge – From Whimsie Doodles

posted on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 on her blog The Purple Place.

….After realizing that this is National Friendship Week I knew I wanted to make a card in honor of friendship and all of my dear friends.

And because this cards needed to be created with a Whimsy Doodle Image I picked this cute “Bunny” as the image I wanted to use on my card. I also made sure to color her in all of my favorite colors. All the colors and make me smile and make me happy, just like my friends do. This is my “Friendship Card”–

And the sentiment I created for my card says – Friendship is Happiness and to me that could NOT be more true. I adore all of my friends and to me friends are just like family. They bring a lot of fun, love, and happiness into my life and I am soooooo fortunate, because I have a huge world of friends.

And they are the BEST!
