The Truth about Dads
On the outside, dads are like steel. Anodized steel to be exact. But way down, deep inside, they’re all mush. Every last one of them. Show me any cantankerous, tough as nails, testosterone-driven Neanderthal, and I’ll show you his softer side–and we needn’t even be near a Sears Department Store. . . . keep reading (more…)

Let Your Burdens Down

Thursday, April 21st, 2011
A young lady confidently walked around the room while leading and
explaining stress management to an audience;with a raised glass of
water, and everyone knew she was going to ask the ultimate question,
‘half empty or half full?’….. she fooled them all…”How heavy is
this glass of water?”, she inquired with a smile.

Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.

She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how
long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that’s not a problem.

If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold
it for a day, you’ll have to call an ambulance.  In each case it’s the
same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.” She
continued, “and that’s the way it is with stress. If we carry our
burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes
increasingly heavy, we won’t be able to carry on.”

“As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and
rest before holding it again.  When we’re refreshed, we can carry on
with the burden – holding stress longer and better each time
practiced. So, as early in the evening as you can, put all your
burdens down. Don’t carry them through the evening and into the
night…. pick them up tomorrow. (more…)

Welcome March

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

March is the month of the buds coming forth.  Quietly they have worked for months to develop, and now they are ready to burst.  Most won’t actually open this month, but they are pregnant with promise.  Hope is in the trees and in the birds they are now beginning to welcome to their still-bare branches.  This is a time for watching the pieces come together, for potential.  Life is stirring.  Everything necessary for trees to blossom and leaf out is present, just as it is within us.  The branches are busy now putting effort toward the blooms to come; we can occupy ourselves in similar fashion.  Everyone in March thinks spring will be here any day.  It’s a time inherently full of creative effort: we color eggs and hide them, we make kites and fly them, and the sky plays with new cloud formations. Feeling Irish

On St. Patrick’s Day we can all FEEL IRISH!!!

On St. Patrick’s Day you don’t have to be Irish to enjoy the spirit of the day.

Geather your clan and celebrate the spirt of the day with some Irish food because everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. The popularity of this holiday has spread like a patch of clover. There are more St. Patrick’s Day parades held in the United States than in Ireland.

Celebrating each holiday is our way of celebrating life. It does help if you look good in green, believe in wee-folk and enjoy a bit of sausage and cabbage. Come and visit us at www.mom-stuff.com and celebrate with us.

The New Facebook Privacy Setting Called “Instant Personalization”

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

It has always been mom-stuff.com policy to keep you, my friends informed. Read this email I recieved from a friend of mine and tell me what you think. I enough people change their settings Facebook will get the message that we don’t want them to do this.

I must have upset the powers that be in Facebook as it seems they
have banned access to my post titled:

“Facebook Is Going To Take Your Likes And Comments
And Turn Them Into Ads – Opportunity or Abuse?”

Hmmm I wonder why… (more…)
